ThinkBIG is a Caterpillar®-specific instructional program that pays you while you train to become a journeyman technician. The program alternates between lab and lecture course work, and paid, hands-on training at T&E, allowing you to practice what you have learned.
This outstanding career development program will help build the foundation of your future career, whether you enjoy working in the shop or prefer the independence of traveling to work sites and interacting with customers. In time, graduates become specialized experts skilled in a wide variety of technologies such as electronically controlled engines, sophisticated computer-based diagnostics, state-of-the-art hydraulics, transmissions and more. You’ll then apply this know-how to service and repair over 300 different Cat machines and engines that work in industries as varied as agriculture, logging and forestry, power generation, construction, marine, road building, earthmoving, material handling, trucking and transport, locomotive and mining.
By the end of the two-year program, you will have earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree, and one-year’s worth of experience towards journeyman status at T&E.
